Become a Play Therapist in 2026

Our intensive 13-week program is designed to fast-track your journey to becoming a qualified Play Therapist. With a commitment of 2.5 days per week, you’ll gain the skills and knowledge needed to excel in this rewarding field.

Prerequisites: A Bachelor’s Degree in fields such as education, psychology, occupational therapy, or speech pathology is required. Unsure if your degree qualifies? Contact the Play Therapy Practitioners Association for guidance

2026 Intakes

We release new intakes every 3 months. Each Intake has only 4 students, with weekly live classes on zoom.

  • Intake 1: Tuesdays, 9:30 AM (NT time) starting 13th January - 17th of April

  • Intake 2: Tuesdays, 5:00 PM (NT time) starting 13th January - 17th of April

  • Intake 3: Sundays, 10:00 AM (NT time) starting 18th of January - 12th of April

Dr. Joanne Wicks brings unmatched expertise to our program, having co-developed and taught the prestigious Master of Play Therapy course at Charles Darwin University since 2016.

Since taking on a teaching role in our Clinical Training Program, Dr. Wicks has earned glowing praise from her students for her engaging and insightful teaching style.

Dr. Wicks’ PhD research focused on the transformative power of intensive play therapy for children facing adversity in both Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.
