Dr. Joanne Wicks brings unmatched expertise to our program, having co-developed and taught the prestigious Master of Play Therapy course at Charles Darwin University since 2016.
Since taking on a teaching role in our Clinical Training Program, Dr. Wicks has earned glowing praise from her students for her engaging and insightful teaching style.
Dr. Wicks’ PhD research focused on the transformative power of intensive play therapy for children facing adversity in both Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.
Her passion for making a difference through play therapy shines in every session she leads, inspiring students to excel.
Renae earned her Master of Play Therapy under the guidance of the esteemed Dr. Jo Wicks, further solidifying her expertise in this transformative field.
Following her graduation, Renae established a thriving private Play Therapy practice in South Australia. With over 100 sessions offered weekly across five locations, her team of 10 skilled therapists has made a profound impact in their communities
In 2022, recognising a significant gap in Play Therapy training, Renae channeled her passion and expertise into creating accessible learning opportunities for aspiring therapists across Australia.
Through Play Therapy School, we have empowered over 90 new Play Therapists to successfully enter and excel in this rewarding profession.
