This workshop is designed for play therapists working in agency, private practice, and school settings who already possess a strong understanding and practice skills in child-centered play therapy and are interested in learning to facilitate their own Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) groups.
All online and via zoom! We may have in person training in the future but we will just start with online.

Attendance in all classes is mandatory to fully benefit from the course, however, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise. In such situations, we will provide the missed class as a recording (without faces). However, this access is strictly limited to one occasion only. If repeated absences occur, you will be required to enroll in the next course to complete the missed sessions effectively. Please prioritise your commitment to this training for maximum results.

Yes, you will be required to practice teaching a session after each lesson. At the following lesson there will be opportunities to receive supervision on your practice. There will also be opportunities for group supervision (extra cost) with Rochelle after you have completed the course. This will be explained more at the end of the 10th lesson.
Yes, a strong understanding of child-centered play therapy is required to get the most out of this course. Familiarity and current practice in CCPT concepts will help you build on your existing knowledge and skills. We recommend at minimum 150 hours of CCPT training. However, we will decide on a case by case basis so please reach out to discuss it. You do not need any prior experience in CPRT.
Throughout the 10-week program, you will learn about the fundamentals of CPRT, its theoretical underpinnings, historical context, research support, and practical skills for implementing CPRT in individual and group settings. You will also explore adaptations for specific populations and address real-life challenges that may arise during CPRT sessions. We have ensured that the training hours are in line with standards for all 3 Australian Play Therapy associations as far as requirements were available to us. Other requirements will be individually assessed via the association.
You have access to this course for 30 days after you graduate - across any and all devices you own. Any files that are downloadable are yours to keep as well. NB: This material is copyrighted and passing on or sharing this course material to another party is prohibited.
This is a 30 hour course with fortnightly lessons over 6 months. You will be expected to attend all 10 lessons and complete the 1 hour of readings, practice and assessment questions each week.
